I assume you're keeping the Hoos out since no self-respecting Hoo would type in that password:)

Are there any Hoos on this board?

I used to think HooFighter was (a Hoo who is a fighter) until he clarified the meaning of his name (a person who fights Hoos)

AFAIK, nearly everyone here is a Hokie or neutral.

Bracket completed and I'll write it I've got the Tar Heels as champions...the closest I have to a dark horse is Texas A&M. No Cinderella's into the Sweet 16 either but we know that won't hold.

FTR enough is enough! I have HAD IT with the Hokies not being in these mother******' brackets! :D

Damn IA State...can't force myself to put the Hoos in the final 4 so I have to knock em out sometime...ISU has screwed me so many times in brackets I just can't pick them to do it.
Looks like the only thing 1984 got wrong was the date.

My bracket is in.

So after Hampton upsets UVA-C, do they go on to upset the TTU/Butler winner? Decisions, decisions.

Ayup...UVA is sitting there now in the cat birds seat.

Also the PAC 12 has looked like used kitty litter.

Ironically I have one of those auto fill tournament brackets on CBS Sports from one of their formulas and I was 15 for 16 yesterday. :)

Wow ... what an amazing day of basketball. Sadly the Hokies lost, but we did get to see some phenomenal games. Everyone in the office today was gathered around watching MSU lose. And the NIU buzzer beater tonight? That was breathtaking.

So we have a very close race after the first round.

Overall, the better seed won 19 games and 13 were upsets, according to seeding.

So here are our standings after one day:

1. BigDave (23)
2. Hokie Fan in DC (22)
2. Hokie CPA (22)
2. Nolan (22)
2. Bay Area (22)
2. Upstate (22)
7. Hephaestus (21)
7. Elberto (21)
9. Jmac (20)
10. Vienna (19)
11. West End (17)
12. IP (16)

After day three, there still isn't a lot of separation. Five points separate 1st and 10th place and you can make up six points by getting the national champion right.

Nobody seems to be eliminated yet - there is enough diversity of final four picks that a lot of ground can be made up quickly.

Here are our current standings:

1. Hokie CPA (34)
1. Bay Area Hokie (34)
3. BigDave (33)
3. Elberto (33)
5. Hokie Fan in DC (32)
5. Nolan (32)
7. Hephaestus (31)
8. Jmac (30)
8. Upstate (30)
10. Vienna (29)
11. West End (25)
12. IP (22)

Wow ... I'm still sitting here stunned by that ending.

Are you Hephaestus?

As far as I can tell, by the way, Elberto, Upstate, and Jmac are all elimintated. Hokie CPA can do no better than tie. Everyone else is still alive.

After four days, it's still a very close game, with only four points separating first and seventh. Even IP Law Hokie, who is currently in last place and 15 points out of the lead, is still in it and probably would win if his pick of Villanova for the national championship comes to fruition.

I'm revising what I said about who is eliminated. Only Upstate is eliminated and Elberto can do no better than tie - upon further review, everyone else has at least some path forward.

Here are our current standings along with everyone's final four picks ... you can tell this is a Hokie board when every single one of us picked Michigan State to clear their bracket.:

1. BigDave (45) - UNC over Kansas, Ok and MSU
2. Nolan (44) - MSU over Kansas, TAMU and UNC
3. Hokie Fan in DC (42) - UNC over Kansas, TAMU and MSU
3. Jmac (42) - MSU and Kansas, UNC and Oregon
3. Hokie CPA (42) - KU over MSU, Ok and Xavier
3. Bay Area Hokie (42) - MSU over Kansas, Oregon and WVU
7. Major Kong (41) - UNC over KU, TAMU and MSU
8. West End (39) - KU over MSU, TAMU and UNC
9. Elberto (39) - KU over MSU, Ok and UNC
10. Upstate (38) - MSU over Oregon, Arizona and UNC
11. Vienna (37) - Ok over MSU, Villanova and UNC
12. IP (30) - Villanova over Indiana, Baylor and MSU

We have a new tie atop the standings with Jmac and Hokie CPA now tied for first ... and Vienna has shot all the way up from the basement into a tie for third. And there will not be an all-ACC final four or even an all-ACC championship. It's a same that both ACC 1-seeds are on the same side of the bracket.

I miscalculated when I said who was eliminated. I assumed they were using a normal scoring system where you get one point for the first round, 2 for the second, 3 for the third, 4 for the fourth, 5 for the final four, and 6 for the championship. But that is apparently not correct. I got two picks right and my total went up by 8, so this round was four points apiece, not three. So that means that point values are DOUBLED each round. The MNC itself is worth 32 points, not six points. So basically if you get nearly everything else wrong, but get the championship right, you win. So essentially nobody is eliminated unless they have the identical picks to someone above them.

So here are our new standings and I think that Major Kong, West End, and Hokie Fan in DC are eliminated, but everyone else is still alive:

1. Jmac (54) - MSU and Kansas, UNC and Oregon
1. Hokie CPA (54) - KU over MSU, Ok and Xavier
3. Vienna (53) - Ok over MSU, Villanova and UNC
3. BigDave (53) - UNC over Kansas, Ok and MSU
5. Nolan (52) - MSU over Kansas, TAMU and UNC
6. Elberto (51) - KU over MSU, Ok and UNC
7. Upstate (50) - MSU over Oregon, Arizona and UNC
7. Bay Area Hokie (50) - MSU over Kansas, Oregon and WVU
9. Major Kong (49) - UNC over KU, TAMU and MSU
10. West End (47) - KU over MSU, TAMU and UNC
11. Hokie Fan in DC (46) - UNC over Kansas, TAMU and MSU
12. IP (42) - Villanova over Indiana, Baylor and MSU

This scoring is really weird. Tonight's Indiana-UNC game is very important - if IP were to be correct in his prediction of Indiana to make it to the final four, that pick alone would propel him into the lead (all other things being equal, which obviously the Villanova-Kansas matchup is huge as well).

Well, half of the final four is going to be ACC teams, so that's something.

This scoring system is really odd. If Villanova wins the championship, IP wins, regardless of anything else. You get 32 points for picking the MNC correctly and 16 points for picking the championship games correctly, so if nobody above you has your picks for the championship game (Oregon in Upstate's case and Villanova in IP's case), you can make up a lot of ground in a hurry.

1. BigDave (65) - UNC over Kansas, Ok and MSU
2. Hokie CPA (62) - KU over MSU, Ok and Xavier
2. Jmac (62) - MSU and Kansas, UNC and Oregon
4. Nolan (60) - MSU over Kansas, TAMU and UNC
5. Elberto (59) - KU over MSU, Ok and UNC
5. West End (59) - KU over MSU, TAMU and UNC
7. Major Kong (57) - UNC over KU, TAMU and MSU
7. Vienna (57) - Ok over MSU, Villanova and UNC
9. Hokie Fan in DC (54) - UNC over Kansas, TAMU and MSU
9. Upstate (54) - MSU over Oregon, Arizona and UNC
9. Bay Area Hokie (54) - MSU over Kansas, Oregon and WVU
12. IP (46) - Villanova over Indiana, Baylor and MSU

Well, UWS is down to the final three! Vienna has Oklahoma, BigDave has UNC, and IP has Villanova.

* If anyone is correct in their championship pick, then they win it all.
* If Notre Dame, Syracuse, or UVA-C win the championship over Villanova, then BigDave and Vienna tie
* If Notre Dame, Syracuse, or UVA-C win the championship over Oklahoma, then Vienna wins.

1. Vienna (73) - Ok over MSU, Villanova and UNC
1. BigDave (73) - UNC over Kansas, Ok and MSU
3. Hokie CPA (70) - KU over MSU, Ok and Xavier
4. Elberto (67) - KU over MSU, Ok and UNC
5. Jmac (62) - MSU and Kansas, UNC and Oregon
6. Nolan (60) - MSU over Kansas, TAMU and UNC
7. West End (59) - KU over MSU, TAMU and UNC
8. Major Kong (57) - UNC over KU, TAMU and MSU
9. Hokie Fan in DC (54) - UNC over Kansas, TAMU and MSU
9. Upstate (54) - MSU over Oregon, Arizona and UNC
9. Bay Area Hokie (54) - MSU over Kansas, Oregon and WVU
12. IP (54) - Villanova over Indiana, Baylor and MSU
