So your saying the Probation Officials are disgusting :?: That's the State you're writing about...why do you hate the gubment :?: :P

FTR I think the kid should have had to serve some serious prison time not 3 months jail time.

It's "good" to see that even liberal California respects the good old boy Stanford network. :(

The guy should be serving a sentence close to what the prosecution recommended, his feelings be damned.

Rape apologists...Like Hillary!-> ???

If rape apologists are disgusting, what of people who advocate for societal conditions conducive to rape, sexual assault, or invasion of rights?

Yeah I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea to release that statement especially with the "20 minutes of action" part. I don't think criminal punishments are based on how long the criminal act took to commit. Regardless of whether he meant it to or not, it comes across as extremely tone deaf.

Yup. In this case, just STFU. If you're going to issue any sort of statement, state nothing but remorse for the victim and not your POS son.

Just to clarify - are you arguing that his son could have received an even more lenient sentence without dad's letter, or that his dad should have just written something more politically correct (or nothing at all) in order to not hurt the feelings of message board posters?

I see, so the latter - he just offends your bleeding heart. You, like all Hillary voters, act too much on substance/immediate gratification and not enough on logic and reason. Wake up and stop acting like an emotional fascist.

No, let's walk through your (lack of) reasoning again.

1. Dad writes letter to judge before sentencing.
2. Judge gives kid a light sentence.
3. Nolan gets upset, states dad should have just "STFU" and expressed remorse to the victim.

Dad's goal was to influence the lightest sentence that he could for his son. It sounds like he understands the system better than you do. The context of his comments within your own personal morality is irrelevant.

A step further...

Nolan is upset with father trying to reduce son's sentence because dad was tone deaf w/r/t victim's plight.

Nolan- are you upset with Hillary!-> for doing much worse w/r/t rape & sex assault victims?

Good point. The Clinton Crime Syndicate's attacks on the numerous Slick Willie rape accusers are far, far worse than anything in the dad's letter.

I don't believe the letter influenced the judge's sentencing. CA judges are incompetent enough on their own when it comes to sentencing criminals.
