So your saying the Probation Officials are disgusting That's the State you're writing about...why do you hate the gubmentnolanvt wrote:Rape apologists are also disgusting.Major Kong wrote:The local opinion...
FTR I think the kid should have had to serve some serious prison time not 3 months jail time.
It's "good" to see that even liberal California respects the good old boy Stanford network.

The guy should be serving a sentence close to what the prosecution recommended, his feelings be damned.Major Kong wrote:So your saying the Probation Officials are disgusting That's the State you're writing about...why do you hate the gubmentnolanvt wrote:Rape apologists are also disgusting.Major Kong wrote:The local opinion...

Rape apologists...Like Hillary!-> ???
If rape apologists are disgusting, what of people who advocate for societal conditions conducive to rape, sexual assault, or invasion of rights?
So I put (the dead dog) on her doorstep!

You support Hillary. Hillary wants judges to have more leeway in sentencing. Own it.nolanvt wrote:WTF are you blabbering about?USN_Hokie wrote:#CUT50, Nolan. This is what you want, own it.

He was convicted of sexual assault not rape.

This thread reminds me of some of the rape prevention tips that men who rape need to follow:

Geez. The rapist's father's letter is pretty offensive.

Yeah I'm not sure who thought it was a good idea to release that statement especially with the "20 minutes of action" part. I don't think criminal punishments are based on how long the criminal act took to commit. Regardless of whether he meant it to or not, it comes across as extremely tone deaf.

Yup. In this case, just STFU. If you're going to issue any sort of statement, state nothing but remorse for the victim and not your POS son.absolutvt03 wrote:nolanvt wrote:Geez. The rapist's father's letter is pretty offensive.

Just to clarify - are you arguing that his son could have received an even more lenient sentence without dad's letter, or that his dad should have just written something more politically correct (or nothing at all) in order to not hurt the feelings of message board posters?nolanvt wrote:Yup. I see, so the latter - he just offends your bleeding heart. You, like all Hillary voters, act too much on substance/immediate gratification and not enough on logic and reason. Wake up and stop acting like an emotional fascist.nolanvt wrote:My position: his Dad should STFU.USN_Hokie wrote:Just to clarify - are you arguing that his son could have received an even more lenient sentence without dad's letter, or that his dad should have just written something more politically correct (or nothing at all) in order to not hurt the feelings of message board posters?nolanvt wrote:Yup. 1. Dad writes letter to judge before sentencing.
2. Judge gives kid a light sentence.
3. Nolan gets upset, states dad should have just "STFU" and expressed remorse to the victim.
Dad's goal was to influence the lightest sentence that he could for his son. It sounds like he understands the system better than you do. The context of his comments within your own personal morality is irrelevant.

Nolan is upset with father trying to reduce son's sentence because dad was tone deaf w/r/t victim's plight.
Nolan- are you upset with Hillary!-> for doing much worse w/r/t rape & sex assault victims?

Good point. The Clinton Crime Syndicate's attacks on the numerous Slick Willie rape accusers are far, far worse than anything in the dad's letter.RiverguyVT wrote: Nolan- are you upset with Hillary!-> for doing much worse w/r/t rape & sex assault victims?
Re: Judge goes easy on rapist to avoid "severe impact on him
I don't believe the letter influenced the judge's sentencing. CA judges are incompetent enough on their own when it comes to sentencing criminals.USN_Hokie wrote:No, let's walk through your (lack of) reasoning again.nolanvt wrote:This is a bit.
