My issue is that there are clearly two sets of laws in this country.
Andrew McCarthy sums it up nicely...pure politics trying to remove Trump.

Yes, politics. It's been happening since Bill Clinton. Making claims that there are 2 sets of rules is ludicrous. Clinton was impeached for lying. Flynn is charged for lying. And both Bush and Obama had to endure their opponents trying to find ways to get them out of office, including calls for impeachment.
The main difference today is that you have a POTUS who makes up crap all the time, and a team of people that regularly lie.
Where are you going with this? None of your comments have anything to do with the article.

Clinton committed a crime. Why would you excuse this?
What am I excusing? Uppie, and apparently you, are the ones excusing Flynn's crime(s). I'm not excusing anyone.
The article is about special prosecutor's and their roles. Starr did the same thing, expanded his investigation, in an attempt to get Clinton. It worked.
And the idea that there was nothing at all for Mueller to look into, is silly. When you start asking questions, and people start lying to you, that's evidence of something that isn't kosher. McCarthy doesn't think it is based on any criminality, or evidence that there was a crime committed. That's an opinion, not a fact. The Trump admin's actions, and lies, are not normal, and they were very deceptive in their communications with Russia, who happened to be interfering in the election. A normal person would find that odd.
What does this have to do with the topic? Everyone agrees Flynn lied, including Flynn. Everyone agrees this isnt about Flynn. Get back on topic.

And while everyone agrees that Flynn lied, people keep on stating his actual crime wrong, and calling it a procedural issue. It's either purposefully misleading, or just not knowing what he was actually charged with.

I have no problem with Flynn being charged for lying under oath. But make no mistake that Mueller has overstepped his bounds of ferreting out collusion with Russia that impacted the election. This has nothing to do with that. He's spent millions of dollars and he has to find something, somewhere, even if it means going beyond the bounds.

Again, Flynn's lying has nothing to do with Trump, and the liberals and the media making a big deal of this are delusional. They just want to see Trump ousted.

You dopes keep saying procedural crime. He wasn't charged with a procedural crime. His crime is similar to Wild Bills impeachment crime.
it is funny watching the msm orgasm over this Flynn deal, it is going to take out Trump!!!!!!! No as still there is nothing illegal that was done, you can talk to Russians, that is not illegal but keep spending millions on the fishing expedition.....couldn't poor people use that for housing?
You are simply wrong. He committed several crimes, and the idea that "you can talk to Russians", is completely wrong.
I'll give you a hint. Private citizens can have conversations with officials from Great Britain. They can't have conversations with officials from Russia. I'll leave it to you to figure out the difference between those 2 countries.

As for Flynn, he can certainly have conversations with Russia, in the context of what Sean Spicer said he did (we know now that Spicer was also lying out of his butt), but discussing sanctions with them is a no-no, and has the smell of a quid pro quo. That is the reason that he, and other Trump team members, have lied about their contacts with Russia over and over. They knew what they were doing, and got caught.

Is it the worst crime ever committed? No. But it's still a big deal, and anyone who wants to talk about "draining the swamp", has zero credibility if they think Trump is going to do that.
No, YOU are simply wrong. There is nothing illegal about transition team members talking with foreign representatives -- absolutely none. Every administration has done it as part of the transition period.

You show your ignorance with the "Private citizens can have conversations with officials from Great Britain. They can't have conversations with officials from Russia." Just simply not true.

It is true. The US had just put sanctions on Russia. Flynn was interfering with the US govt. policy on an adversarial country. There's a reason they were all lying about it.
Put it this way, why do you think they were all lying about their interactions with Russia? Why do you think Flynn lied to Pence, an honest man who was not part of Trump's inner circle?

No, you're conflating Flynn with Trump and using Clinton's impeachment as a justification to go after Trump, who's done nothing illegal by anyone's measure - but DC has reasons and people are "excusing Flynn's crime" if they call this what it is - a witch hunt. Basically, it's a hot mess - and now you've moved on to nit-picking over what someone (not even sure who) called Flynn's crime.

You are tapdancing around what the Mueller investigation is. Just come out and say it.

Technically, yes, but no one has ever been charged with that crime, and for lots of good reasons. I do know that Flynn broke multiple federal laws, multiple times, in order to hide what he was doing as part of the transition team. He should be punished for that. As to what else should be done, I don't really care. The ppl on the transition team are jokeworthy. They're the Keystone Kops of presidential teams. But I don't feel any sympathy for what happens to them. They're as shady as any other political group.

There isn't anything close to a Logan Act violation that I've seen. I'd welcome you to provide whatever evidence you interpret as a violation though (which nobody has ever been convicted of). If anything, it was the opposite - he was telling the Russians to cooperate (with the Obama administration) and not escalate. Those sanctions are still in place, I believe.

You're just blinded by your TDS here, sorry.

You just repeated what I posted above, and claimed I have TDS.

That's special.
You said he technically committed a crime by talking with them in the manner he did. I said there isn't anything close to a Logan act violation.

If that's repeating what you said, then you're the Keystone Kops[sic] of logic and reason.
You have no idea what is "close" to a Logan Act violation, it has never been tested in courts.

This is the Logan Act,"Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both."

That is what Flynn did.

You repeated that there has never been anyone convicted of the Logan Act, which was what I posted. And I posted that there were good reasons no one has ever been prosecuted, meaning that I don't think Flynn should have been charged with a violation. Not sure what about that is TDS. Nothing I've written is false, you just don't like it.

So, you’re saying Obama is in violation of the Logan Act during his trip around the world talking to foreign leaders? He’s now a private citizen, and should keep his crappy ideas to himself. I think he’s out talking to foreign leaders about the Paris Accord and the US’s position on it.

LOL. A minute ago you were accusing me of agreeing with you. Now your say I have no idea what a Logan act violation would be because it hasn't been tested in the courts (actually, that's wrong), then proceed to tell me how *you* know he did commit a violation by way of a benign comments which don't come close to meeting the spirit of the law or previous indictments.

This is hilarious.

Yeah, didn't he even urge foreign nations to delay a vote on something until he became president? I distinctly remember him doing something like that.

Do I need to write, "IMO", before every post? IMO, he took actions which are in laid out in the Logan Act. You disagree. Whoopee, move on.

And no, it hasn't been tested in the courts. There were 2 indictments, zero prosecutions.

1. That's been apparent throughout.

2. Grand jury indictment.

Yes, indictment. Are you going to argue that an indictment is a "test of the court"?
