I saw Black Panther this afternoon...
What a great movie
I'll rate it a very slight nod over Deadpool...it was fantastic.
I'll just say there was a much more conservative bent to it and anybody "hoping" for some kind of radical message it ain't there.

I think it was very even with Deadpool.awesome guy wrote:That's just insane, that doesn't come close to Deadpool.
The story, the cinematography and the direction were all superior. I especially loved the storyline.
Deadpool I believe was just a tad behind. All other factors were even.
Another reason for my belief was the reaction of my grandnephew...he extremely enjoyed the movie and wanted to stay until the end credits too.
One thing I really liked about Black Panther was many movies just don't live up to the hype but this one did.
Deadpool teaming up with the Black Panther in a full feature film would be awesome.

I thought the story was awful. He's Black Panther, he's not Black Panther, oh but he is again! And Killmonger was just silly, 2 PhDs and then a SEAL. He wasn't believable as either. It feel apart at the end. Deadpoll was a riot the whole movie. Only knock is it's a one and done movie. It's not as enjoyable in subsequent viewings unlike Age of Ultron which gets better and better the more you see it. Black Panther wasn't awful, but didn't live up to the hype in my opinion.Major Kong wrote:I think it was very even with Deadpool.awesome guy wrote:That's just insane, that doesn't come close to Deadpool.

It was an excellent movie. Marvel is on fire at the moment, they have a money printing machine. Star Wars as well, license to print money.

I was surprised by BP. As someone else said the cinematography was great. They sorta ripped off a lot of James Bond(casino scenes, the Q character), but it was good.

When Stan Lee popped up on the screen I started laughing. My grandnephew asked me what's so funny I explianed to him the ole Stan was the creator of the Marvel Universe and always pops up in the Marvel movies.Bay_area_Hokie wrote:I was surprised by BP. To the connection with the Bond movies I thought the same.

Didn't the movie end with a helicopter trip to Oakland-home of the Black Panther party?

Re: I saw Black Panther this afternoon...
I think you really miss how the story is the same BS Farrakhan, Rev Wright and ilk tell about Africa and the white devil. It's a delusion that Africa would be a paradise, if not for those tricky white people. You can't underestimate how making a movie along those lines fortifies that message as it gives a visual representation of it. One of my buddies was at the Slave Trail and heard the guy giving the walk make the same outlandish claims. The black community is full of racism fueled by fake news and BS.Major Kong wrote:Clicky here.HokieJoe wrote:Didn't the movie end with a helicopter trip to Oakland-home of the Black Panther party?

I think you REALLY need to go back and watch the movie again if that is what you got out it from the protaganist...from the antaganist yes that was his message...but not from T'Challa.awesome guy wrote:I think you really miss how the story is the same BS Farrakhan, Rev Wright and ilk tell about Africa and the white devil. Sure it was. He agreed that blacks are left behind. They only disagreed about what to do about it. And this is beside the point. Regardless of who is for what, the background is a paradise without "colonialist", as they call it. That's exactly the message of Farrakhan, Rev. Write, and the knucklehead giving the Slave Trail speech.Major Kong wrote:I think you REALLY need to go back and watch the movie again if that is waht you got out it from the protaganist...from the antaganist yes that was his message...but not from T'Challa.awesome guy wrote:I think you really miss how the story is the same BS Farrakhan, Rev Wright and ilk tell about Africa and the white devil.
