Federal Judge in Boston upholds ban on AR-15s

Post by ip_law-hokie »

Holds that 2nd amendment does not cover assault weapons (e.g., AR-15) or large capacity magazines. In accord with the prevailing view.

Shows that even judges are wrong.

That's obviously the inevitable result on a ban on assault weapons. Slippery Slope!

No, that would be your rejection / horrible application of the 2nd Amendment as a whole.

WHy uphold the ban on the AR15 but a Ruger Mini 14 is A.O.K. It makes absolutely no sense.

Because the ruling is based on nothing but emotion and not logic, reason or the English language.

But the Mini 14 isn't fully semi-automatic firing 20-thousand boolits per second!

As kong points out the ruling makes no sense, but again you have no idea what Kong is referencing due to your lack of knowledge and your wanting to be owned yet again in yet another gun thread.

You're in way over your head. The AR-15 isn't banned for possession by name, Massachusetts just has a feature test which is applicable to almost all (but not all) AR15's. The Mini 14 passes the feature test, but is identical in function (same capacity, same round, same operation).

The ruling is bad because the law prohibits weapons in common use (see Heller v DC), and the AR15 is the most popular modern sporting rifle in existence.

It's not affected by the law, there is no standing. That's his point.
