Some friends lived in Santa Monica, they had a bamboo garden on the side of the house and had to remove it because the homeless and random druggies would pass out in it. I can only imagine how much worse this would make that problem. Especially for people with kids or other defenseless individuals.

How long until the county just seizes your backyard anyway? Like farms in South Africa. Jerry Brown could just proclaim that the homeless need the land more. He probably has the votes in California already.

The possibilities are limitless. When the bum living in your backyard rapes the neighbor kid (aren't a crazy number of these people sex offenders?), does that make you liable?awesome guy wrote:Some friends lived in Santa Monica, they had a bamboo garden on the side of the house and had to remove it because the homeless and random druggies would pass out in it. What if...say....your adopt-a-bum files a restraining order against you?
What happens when your adopt-a-bum opens a meth lab in your garage?

California is going to go from bad to worse with Newsom or Viaretardo as Governor. I predict that DC will tell us that all is well though.CFB Apologist wrote:How long until the county just seizes your backyard anyway? Like farms in South Africa. My sister lives in San Jose.. in a crap part of town and she has a "good" job. My other sister lives in suburban Sacramento and doesn't work- her husband is an electrician. They both live hand to mouth in their mid-50's after having decent careers. Why anyone would CHOOSE that is beyond me? decent weather i guess? It's insane the taxes, the laws, the illegal immigrants, etc.USN_Hokie wrote:California is going to go from bad to worse with Newsom or Viaretardo as Governor. What if your neighbor that worked all of their life to live in a nice LA neighborhood and works his arse off to continue to do so, doesn't want his property values to plummet faster than you can say socialism? Anybody that votes "for" this, either doesn't live in the county, or is brain dead- 1 of the 2.USN_Hokie wrote:The possibilities are limitless. Oh yeah, property values will definitely take a hit.CFB Apologist wrote:What if your neighbor that worked all of their life to live in a nice LA neighborhood and works his arse off to continue to do so, doesn't want his property values to plummet faster than you can say socialism? As happens 100% of the time, your prediction is 100% wrong.USN_Hokie wrote:California is going to go from bad to worse with Newsom or Viaretardo as Governor. First, we have a big homeless problem, and no one has a solution.
Second, having a homeless person living in your backyard is a terrible idea. If you can hold a job, but can't afford to live in LA, then get on a bus and move to someplace where you can afford to live. It will probably have crappy weather and no beach, but that's life.
Re: LA to pay homeowners to adopt homeless... Lol
These people live in California because your state's policies encourage them to be there. These people are looking for white streets a comfortable place where they have access to drugs and won't be bothered by cops, while having access to entitlements and utilities. Add in the temperate climate and it's every hobo's dream. Congratulations.HokieFanDC wrote:As happens 100% of the time, your prediction is 100% wrong.USN_Hokie wrote:California is going to go from bad to worse with Newsom or Viaretardo as Governor. Certainly the super rich, super preachy Hollywood types will jump on the opportunity to help someone less fortunate.
